The nearest-mint TR-808 for decades |
| Description |
James our tech loves TR-808s, and has one of his own. He was completely bowled over by this one. Not only does it look absolutely wonderful, but it is in perfect working order, serviced by James, someone who intimately knows what these machines should sound like. It also has the original overlay, and original box and polystyrene inserts. The 808 itself is 9.5/10. There are a few specks of dust in the photos and maybe a smudge from a finger, but we have looked in minute detail, and it is seriously as new except for a couple of little nicks in the right-hand end-cheek, a tiny piece missing from one of the knobs - check the pics - and a hairline mark on the front edge. The LEDs are bright as anything, and the screen-printing still looks and feels like new. The rare overlay is maybe 7/10 with a couple of little tears where they normally all tear before they are thrown away, and a little bend top left. The box is maybe 6/10 - totally solid, but quite a few marks from adhesive tape. The polystyrene is totally solid. We will triple box this gem free (including the original box)! VAT will need to be paid in the UK. |
