 Make Streetly Electronics
Model Mellotron 400, ex Edgar Froese
Description Great new low start price for a classic piece of musical history - and a lovely instrument too. Edgar Froese's old Mellotron M400, Serial No. 1134, built in 1973, black, one of the actual machines used on the classic Tangerine Dream recordings. Two tape frames with the following sounds: Tape Frame 1: Mk2 Brass, Mk2 3 Violins, 8 Voice Choir Tape Frame 2: Cello, Mk2 Flute, Woodwind Serviced by Streetly Electronics in 2004, during which it was fitted with a new motor (SMS2) and new tapes on both frames. It was originally owned by Edgar Froese of Tangerine Dream where it is on all of their early 70's records. I purchased it in 2003 and since then it has been used by Rick Wakeman on the Retro and Retro 2 albums and also on two albums by the band Archive. It is in south-east England. Economical and careful transport may be possible by VEMIA to England and north-west Europe.
