| Description |
This EMS Synthi AKS is in great condition and located in Barcelona. It has been mostly used in studio for treatment and synthesis and carefully looked after for many years. Last year it received a full service by Sebastian Niessen ( www.s-n-d.com ).
**Latest info on the AKS from the owner:- 'I can get a pitch range and gate from the keyboard and the random button. The sequencer clocks, changes sequence length and records gates and durations, but doesn't seem to record or send pitch spread from the sequences. Its still great fun though! The keyboard CV is patchable to each oscillator via the input channel 1 , and its value on the knob sets the pitch spread, not the pitch spread on the KS.'**
This particular Synthi features special modifications, all fully functional.
The switchable cross oscillator sync mod, whereby each of the three oscillators can sync with each other.
The trapezoid offset mod, where the range of the trapezoid is smoothly inverted around the centre value ( the trapezoid can act as a trigger envelope or a unique shapeable LFO ).

I was turning up the gain for fun, so that explains any hiss. Here's another piece of improvisation:-

Each oscillator can be switched to CV control independently and incoming CV responds to the green portamento knob.
The spring reverb has improved connectors. The joystick is the nicer metal one, and the trigger button is the nicer circular version.
Case is in good condition, a small hairline crack on the top outer case. Spartanite case catches are fine. Speakers are the originals and both functioning.
The original A to KS cable is included and the KS part seems to be functioning ok (though I always use CV and gate) - the CV pitch spread is controlled by the Input 1 Gain on my model. VEMIA note: without a manual the sequencer isn't intuitive.
The pin matrix white guides would need retouching, they are a little worn. Also included are 10 official yellow EMS replacement 21st Century pins.
(VEMIA note: an eagle-eyed and helpful vemia client saw that there was a knob cap missing, and sent us a knob with the correct (silver) colour cap, which will be included in the sale. Thanks to Electronic Battle!) |
