Description |
Here is my fully working (I've played it today and nothing is broken, although some pots are a bit scratchy), near-mint condition AKS. It has had its capacitors replaced 2 years ago - and that's the only modification. It is now switched off and stored ready for whoever wins the auction.
There are some minor blemishes - and I do mean minor. I decided that, for an instrument that is now 37 years old, a description of 'very good' wasn't doing it justice but neither can I say it is near-mint. Do note that all silk screening on the front panel is intact and so are the labels on the KS portion. None have peeled off. There are no scratches on the front panel but there are some minor (0.25mm) 'dings' which you can see in some of the shots at
http://www.nitrogen.myzen.co.uk/VEMIA/
For example: take a look at matrixlegend1.jpg - next to the word 'reverb' you can see one of these tiny pin-pricks.
Sometimes the 'mains on' light flickers off - then comes back to life again later. It doesn't affect the function of the instrument.
Two of the case rubber feet are missing; the locks are tarnished and need some #0000 wire wool or brasso to shine them up. The spartanite is in very good nick - no cracks, only the typical surface scrapes and even those are shallow.
It comes with six red and four white pins - see the pictures. The mains lead is new, as is the keyboard cable which I made up myself to EMS specifications.
