Description |
Beautiful monster of a synth, in absolutely perfect working order and very, very nice cosmetic condition. Not even one of the little knob tops is missing; all control surfaces are excellent, without any noticeable marks or any rubbing of the screen-printing - certainly 9/10 cosmetically; the keyboard is very very level and in good condition; and only lots of nicks and imperfections in the tolex, and some oxidation on the metal catches and corners, make this look anywhere near its 30-odd years of age. All lights, etc are perfect.
It sounds absolutely massive, and everything including the programmer works great, with all pots perfectly quiet and efficient. If you've never used one before you need to read the manual, but it then all falls into place very nicely.
With very useful CV and gate inputs, well done on quarter-inch jacks, and switchable - see photo detail.
With original European mains voltage. The mains socket is an IEC one which is presumably (but not certainly, if this is a late Four-Voice) a replacement. It will need a standard IEC lead for your country, and a step-up transformer for use in Japan, USA or Canada.
It comes with its lid (missing one catch) and with copy user manuals for the Four-Voice and for individual SEMs. There's always the potential to add a lot more modular control (the SEMs have got to be just about the best design in the world for that); but it is a wonderful, classic instrument in its own right.
