 Make Electro-Harmonix
Model Echoflanger Slap Back Echo, Flanger & Chorus
Description I am parting with an Electro Harmonix Echoflanger from my collection. If you are looking here, you will know why, and I can spare myself the trouble of giving a lengthy explanation. I'll just say: two Reticon SAD1024A BBD ICs. Two. Sonically, it's a completely different beast compared to its direct successor, the Polyflange (which I also used to have) or its predecessor, the Electric Mistress (not to mention the reissues from the late 1990s). For me, it was always the combination of Flange or Filter Matrix and a string synthesiser of sorts. Chorus and Slapback definitely sound like Kurt, if this is what you're after (even though as a non-guitarist I certainly can't vouch for that). Cosmetically, it is excellent for a pedal that is almost 50 years old: with little wear and tear and signs of a busy life, but always well taken care of. Technically, everything works as it should. I've had the pedal for almost 30 years (bought it used back then). It was completely serviced by a technician before Christmas 2025. The electrolytic capacitors and tantalum caps were replaced (with Panasonics and Nichicon Gold), and a plethora of cold solder joints (typically EH) was mended. The pedal was then recalibrated so that it sounds like an Echoflanger. If it doesn't sound extreme enough for you, you can tinker with the internal trimmers yourself (but don't say we didn't warn you).
