Macbeth Studio Systems M5 |
Description |
For sale here my superb condition Macbeth M5 semi-modular synthesiser. Original owner since 2006 with personal serial no.
Non-smoking home studio use only and very well cared for in that time with dust sheet cover.
Looks and layout of a late Rev ARP2600 but with sounds of Moog + Oberheim thanks to the dual filters using their transistor ladder & state variable designs as 'inspirations' respectively, so more powerful than a 2600 in many ways and with super build quality from Ken. Dual monosynth or 3 voice poly possible. Too many features to list. All analogue with amazing sonic power and literally thousands of modulation options. 70 sliders, 23 rotary/switchable pots & over 100 ¼ jack sockets.
Semi-modular design, very well laid out and great for experimentalists. Of course you need a suitable CV/Gate system/sequencer/keyboard, etc. to drive this synth and there is no official manual but one available from the US on eBay.
This is a HUGE synth 3/4 of a metre high & wide, so plenty of room to both see and work with. Makes patching very easy to follow.
Rare too, as estimated only around 90 were made between 2005/6.
This synth weighs 30 Kg boxed and is a 2-man lift.
Winning buyer can have a full hour-long demo on collection, to see and hear all is working and for an overview of features. Of course that might not be allowed until after non-urgent movement restrictions are lifted. Maybe VEMIA will suggest other options under the circumstances to any buyer.
I intended to keep this for life but with the current crisis I need funds more than ever, as many do no doubt. If you are looking for an M5 or all analogue semi-modular alternative to the vintage classics, you'll be more than happy with this I'm sure.
