Mk VII dual-manual Mellotron |
| Description |
**REDUCED START PRICE!**
This Mk VII dual manual 70 key mellotron, s/n 02, is mahogany, in mint condition, and was bought new by me and delivered via international air freight to my home on May, 2005. It has only been out of my living room once and that was to move it on February 2014 to where it is now, in climate controlled storage in it’s flight case. It has switchable voltage, between US and European voltages.
This Mk VII has a control panel different than the prototype, a picture of which is (still) on the mellotron.com website.
Any Mk VII produced after the prototype has the type of control panel seen in the pictures.
Instrument is inside an ATA flight case with casters, 43 x 57 x 25 inches, weight 198 lb.
The sounds in the machine are:
One (1) keyboard (frame)
A Church organ (from the Mk II)
B 3 violins (from the Mk II)
C flute (from the Mk II)
Second keyboard (frame)
A 16 violins, viola & Chamberlin cello (mix)
B 3 violins (from the Mk II)
C Brass (from the Mk II) trumpet, trombone & saxophone
Note: as of now, a Mk VII purchased from mellotron.com would cost $14,500 and that’s not including shipping and customs charges. I paid $1,310 total shipping and customs.
Local Pickup from Houston, Texas 77004 or VEMIA will organise international freight.
Features:
This Mk VII has the following features:
• tube type preamp, a nod to the Mk II
• cabinet is 2 inches taller than the 35 key M400
• Two speed motor control. At the flick of a control panel switch you can change the pitch of the sounds to ‘half-speed Brass’, for example.
• Unlike the M400, a very stable motor system is used. Technical upgrades in the motor, pulley and flywheel produce consistent pitch, as well as pitch swoops.
• Each keyboard has it’s own audio output. Audio output is via unbalanced line as well as well as balanced outputs.
