Prophet 5 rev 3.3 MIDI, 120 memory |
Description |
VEMIA always tries to stop old equipment being labelled 'mint', because, honestly, if something is, say, 30-odd years old, it is almost impossible for it to be strictly mint - for there to be no sign of any use at all, no mark, no wear, no slight oxidation.
There is absolutely nothing on this amazing instrument which I could say is a sign of use. The T8 a few lots ago (from the same owner) is unbelievably close to mint, but you can see a couple of slight things (as detailed) when you spend a few minutes looking.
This, though, is seriously perfect - please check the photos closely, and if there are any marks it will be dust, not permanent.
I would be totally happy if I were buying this brand new.
The keyboard has no marks whatsoever, the knobs are perfect, all surfaces are perfect, and the woodwork is completely immaculate.
How? Probably from having sat in its original box for many years in a nice centrally heated house. It has had very little use indeed. It has now been checked over and serviced by nLi, and will be guaranteeed to be in as beautiful working condition as visual. The keyboard will be re-bushed and will feel like new, and everything will be in perfect tune.
It comes with its original manual (a few pages are tatty inside, but otherwise altogether very good) and a nice metal footswitch (not original) - as well as its box, of course, with the inner protective moulding in good condition. Plus the factory programs on cassette.
This rev 3.3 Prophet 5 has SCI MIDI - an official field retro-fit by Argents' expert Tim Wallhead - and 120 programs). We still think it is probably the most beautiful synth ever made, and it is very, very unlikely that there is a better example anywhere in the world.
