 Model Synthi AKS
Description Late last year, the eminent German synthesist and record label boss Pete Namlook (Peter Kuhlmann) died, aged only 51. VEMIA has been asked to sell some of his great music gear for the benefit of his family, and we decided to do so with 0% seller's commission. We will also collect all items from Germany after the auction, and deliver or pack & ship them. Please bid generously for a very good cause. All items are SOLD AS SEEN because there is no-one available there with the knowledge necessary to test them - but you can see from the photos how meticulous an owner he was. These instruments were also regularly used in his studio, so will not have deteriorated in some damp storage or whatever. If a winning bidder wishes, we will organise any necessary servicing at Lucid Sound before shipping / delivery - if any is actually necessary - high quality servicing at very reasonable rates. For general background, see http://www.flickr.com/photos/ultravod/8188435499/ and

http://www.barcodezine.com/Peter%20Namlook%20Interview.html And for specific reference to the AKS, see these:- http://www.allmusic.com/album/dark-side-of-the-moog-8-mw0000247503 - 'Careful with the AKS, Peter' and

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EMS_Synthi_AKS .

This is one of two classic AKS synths that Pete Namlook owned and used on many (maybe most) of his vast number of recordings. You can see from the pics that this is a gorgeous example, actually a Rehberg machine, with the Rehberg oscillator waveform modulation mini-sockets.

[Note from Lucid: That is quite possibly the AKS he used on Intruder (Aliens In My Suitcase) – the cover pic shows an AKS with those extra jack points.]

Apart from some discolouration to part of the outside of the case, some neat chinagraph numbers near the jack sockets, and what looks like a slight dent well away from the playing surface of the KS, it looks practically mint. It comes with the original mini-Bulgin lead and multi-pin cable to connect the KS to the Synthi. The mains lead has a Euro plug but we will swap it for a UK plug if needed if we bring it back to England. **Now found and included:- six SYNTHI Dopesheets for the AKS and some hand written sheets from Peter regarding AKS settings.** SOLD AS SEEN - but if anything does happen to need servicing, we can get it to EMS expert Lucid for you at cost before delivery.
