Neumann Tube Mic M49U c Version Nr:227 with Telefunken tube AC701 with old K47(Berlin Manufacturing). The mic is
ca 60 years old. The last 40 years i cannot remember an auction or another way where you can buy an M49U.
The mic is of course fully working(100%) and thinking of the age it is in very very good cosmetic condition. Absolute NO DENTS IN THE BASKET. PERFECT. PLEASE LOOK AT ALL 6 PICTURES.
You could use any PSU (N52a, N52t, NN48, BB50, BB12, NKM, BB9, NSM etc, etc) which works with an AC701.
Please make sure before testing by a qualified Tec that your PSU and cable is proper working.
The M49U says'THANK YOU'.
Please also recognize that a new PSU built by an expert is always better (new capacitors, etc, etc) than an old one. Thats my personal opinion.
I knew only one guy in the world that has another M49U.
How much of these were built, no one knows because Neumann has lost all their documentation over that Mic.
Maybe only 2 mics exist, maybe 10 or 15. No one could
give an answer.
There is the rumor, that this mic worked at the radio station RIAS in Berlin as a main speaker mic, but i could not verify this. Its definitely a Mic from the west german
Neumann Company.
This is one of the rarest and best Neumann Mics. Its specially built for vocals and its wonderful. The characteristic could be switched between ball and cardioid on the mic itself.
Even the Neumann guys which work nowadays in the Berlin company did not know that they built this Mic. They are all too young.
The mic had its last Service at 28 January 1985 via Neumann-West.

(VEMIA NOTE: THIS SELLER KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT WHEN IT COMES TO CLASSY VINTAGE GERMAN MICROPHONES AND PRE-AMPS. HE HAS BEEN A REGULAR BUYER AND SELLER FOR MORE THAN 15YEARS. NB: VEMIA have received more internal pics which I will try to integrate into the existing pics - if they don't appear, please look on the expert forums or email pforrest@vemia.co.uk for them. There is a lot of controversy and heated discussion on the forums about this mic. We are confident it is a genuine, rare, original Neumann - see Gunter Wagner's comments here:- http://users.tpg.com.au/guwagner/961/M249special/988.html - and also Martin Schneider of Neumann's confirmation of the genuineness of this mic, manufactured in 1952, at http://prorecordingworkshop.lefora.com/2012/10/22/neumann-m49u-need-mor-infos-vemia-spheremusic-pete-2/page3/
